Setting Moon

The crescent moon was setting. With the camera open for four minutes, I watched the moon disappear behind the black line of hills. My exposure caught the descending moon and turned it into an apparent cylinder of light.

Hello, I was hiking on the trail as you took this photo. Turned out great. Spooky and surreal. Soft haze on top is really neat. Look like it’s shooting up. The motion blur is not what I’d expect, as it almost seems backlit. Did you comp exposures to get the dark moon on top?

Your Pt Reyes lighthouse shot is also great. Fantastic colors.

    Best regards
